Job summary

Sun Communities, Inc. is seeking a part-time Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance across our communities.

The role includes repairs, grounds upkeep, snow removal, and basic utilities maintenance, with emphasis on safety and customer service to residents. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and 6 months in maintenance, with valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months in maintenance experience in apartment/manufactured housing industry preferred.
• 6 months in snow removal experience (if applicable) preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of general maintenance techniques and repair work.
• Ability to endure outdoor work and fluctuating temperatures.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance to maintain the community's physical integrity.
• Complete minor repairs to rental homes and facilities as needed.
• Inspect irrigation systems and perform repairs as necessary.
• Maintain vacant sites by removing trash and preparing sites for occupancy.
• Snow removal from streets, lots, and entrances as applicable, including plow or salt spread.
• Keep lawns manicured and manage landscaping tasks as required.
• Ensure community streets and access routes are hazard-free.
• Test water and perform related tasks for well-water/sewer systems as applicable.
• Report maintenance issues to the property manager and complete site checklists.
