Job summary

Retirement Housing Foundation in Seattle is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to maintain our residential property and ensure residents enjoy a safe, comfortable living environment. You will perform inspections, repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry, and manage a preventive maintenance schedule.

The role requires 1–3 years of experience, EPA/HVAC certifications preferred but not required, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in building maintenance, preferably residential.
  • HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills preferred but not required.
  • EPA/HVAC certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • On-call availability including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • General Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and repair building systems.
  • Emergency Response: Handle after-hours maintenance requests.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Schedule and manage regular PM tasks.
  • Apartment Turnover: Prepare vacant units for new tenants.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations.
  • Groundskeeping: Maintain exterior appearance, landscaping and snow removal.
  • Record Keeping: Track maintenance requests and inventory.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with property management to prioritize tasks.
  • Customer Service: Respond to residents' concerns in a professional manner.
