Job summary

Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Islander Housing to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on university housing facilities, including residence halls and apartments. The role reports to the Facilities Director and requires working with staff and contractors to maintain safe, reliable living spaces.

Responsibilities include responding to resident requests, inspecting units, keeping maintenance records, and operating campus vehicles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of related building maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and other building systems.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
• Willingness to work on-call and after hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance and repairs on residential facilities, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC and other systems.
• Respond to resident requests for maintenance or repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repair work; coordinate with contractors for larger projects.
• Operate a TAMUCC vehicle or golf cart to navigate to worksites and ensure facilities are in good condition.
