Job summary

American Avenue is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to inspect, repair, and maintain homes. You’ll perform carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work, traveling daily to properties across the metro. You’ll inspect homes, secure them, handle turnovers, and document conditions with handheld devices.

Ideal candidates own tools and a truck or van, have a valid driver’s license, and are comfortable with on-call work and OSHA/compliance basics.

Qualifications

• Multi-trade knowledge across carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work.
• Customer-focused with strong communication for residents and teams.
• Own tools and have a truck or van.
• Valid driver’s license and reside within reasonable proximity.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Tech-savvy with handheld IOS devices for work orders.
• Familiar with building codes, EPA, and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs including carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Travel between homes in the metro daily.
• Conduct property inspections, secure homes, and complete vacancy/wellness checks.
• Handle pre-renovation repairs, utility inspections, and basic troubleshooting.
• Manage move-in/out meetings and property turnovers.
• Document property conditions using handheld devices.
