Job summary

American Avenue is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to inspect, repair, and maintain rental homes, ensuring tenant satisfaction through proactive service and clear communication.

You will perform carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work, travel between properties within the metro, conduct inspections, and manage turnovers with handheld IOS devices. Ideal candidates own tools and a valid license, reside nearby, and are ready for emergencies.

Qualifications

• Proficient in carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical work and property turns.
• Strong communication for resident and team interactions.
• Owns tools and has a truck or van and valid driver’s license.
• Resides within reasonable proximity and is available for emergencies.
• Comfortable using handheld IOS devices for work orders and updates.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs across trades.
• Travel daily between homes within the metro area.
• Inspect properties, secure units and conduct turnover tasks.
• Handle pre-renovation repairs, utility inspections and basic troubleshooting.
• Document property conditions using handheld devices and update WOs.
• Attend move-in/out meetings and manage occupancy timelines.
