Job summary

The RMR Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Orlando, FL to assist the Maintenance Supervisor in keeping the property safe, secure, and well-maintained. This on-site role requires performing preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and coordinating make-ready tasks while complying with policies and regulations.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in maintenance/property management, EPA Universal Certification, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 2+ years’ experience in maintenance property management.
• EPA Universal Certification Required.
• CPO Certification Preferred.
• Ability to earn future designations as required by Industry standards, EPA regulations, OSHA requirements, etc.
• Must possess solid knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc. information as required by daily operations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Must be team oriented and a problem solver.
• Maintain professional appearance and manner at all times.
• May be required to work extended periods of time without relief, when responding to priority/emergency situations.
• Stooping, standing, climbing (ladders and stairs) as needed.
• Ability to lift and carry objects of up to 50 lbs. for distances of up to 30 feet.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• This position requires rotating on-call, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• The Maintenance Technician will assist the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the physical integrity of the property.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment as directed and inspect tools for good condition.
• Be aware of utility cut-offs, apartment and fixture cut-offs, and sewer clean-outs.
• Diagnose and perform minor or routine maintenance in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and related areas.
• Inspect and coordinate make-ready repairs and assist make-ready staff to meet deadlines.
• Report major repairs and requisitions to the Maintenance Supervisor prior to spending funds.
• Change locks, rekey, and make keys; assist in moving heavy objects and bags of waste.
• Comply with all policies, procedures, and state/federal regulations; perform on-call duties as needed.
