Job summary

The RMR Group LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician I in Tampa, FL. This entry point role focuses on keeping community grounds clean and safe while gaining hands-on experience in groundskeeping, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs under supervision.

You'll support with light carpentry, plumbing, painting, and appliance work, while assisting with move-ins, inspections, and general upkeep. A valid driver’s license and reliable work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, maintenance, construction, or related fields preferred but not required.
• Ability and willingness to learn basic residential maintenance skills.
• Strong work ethic with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrates initiative, dependability, and attention to detail.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Mobility to climb ladders and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall appearance and cleanliness of community grounds.
• Water lawns, shrubs, and landscaped areas; assist with irrigation and drainage systems.
• Assist with routine preventive maintenance and basic repairs.
• Load, unload, and move heavy equipment and furniture as needed.
• Support maintenance staff on larger repair projects and emergencies.
• Follow safety policies and OSHA/EPA guidelines.
