Job summary

MMS Group is hiring a Maintenance Superintendent for a 93-unit residential property in Cape Charles, VA. The role covers all aspects of preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs across plumbing, electrical, and carpentry, with after-hours emergency responsiveness and safety compliance.

The ideal candidate brings five+ years in residential property maintenance, a high school diploma or equivalent, and relevant certifications, with a valid driver’s license; HVAC, boilers, and other trades

Qualifications

• Five+ years of residential multifamily property maintenance experience.
• Ability to perform plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance maintenance tasks.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety standards; OSHA awareness.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily work orders efficiently and communicate delays to supervisor.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues in electrical, plumbing, appliances and carpentry.
• Assist in scheduling annual inspections and move-in/move-out inspections.
• Coordinate turnover repairs with office team and meet schedules.
• Maintain records for preventative maintenance and vendor contracts.
• Stay current on building codes and safety standards; ensure safe operations.
• Respond to emergencies per company policy; assist in snow removal as needed.
