Job summary

MMS Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to oversee a 420-unit residential property in Hempstead, NY. This live-in role covers interior and exterior maintenance, preventive maintenance, and unit turnover repairs.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of multifamily property maintenance, a valid driver's license, and Fire Safety and Boiler certifications. Responsibilities include managing work orders, inspections, safety compliance, and coordinating with the office team.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of residential multifamily property maintenance experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance maintenance, masonry, HVAC and boilers.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Fire Safety certification and Boiler License.
• Basic tools for routine maintenance.
• Physical ability for heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently complete daily work orders.
• Communicate delays to the supervisor.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues in electrical, plumbing, appliances and carpentry.
• Assist in scheduling annual inspections and move-in/move-out inspections.
• Coordinate turnover repairs with the office team.
• Maintain preventative maintenance records and contracts.
• Stay current on building codes and safety standards.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies per company policy.
• Assist in snow removal.
