Harvard University is seeking a Building Manager for an undergraduate residential dormitory to oversee all physical resources operations, including custodial, trades, and contract activities. You will collaborate with Faculty Deans and area managers to ensure safe, efficient housing for students and staff.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing budgets, monitoring HVAC and security systems, coordinating inspections, and responding to emergencies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in management of physical facilities.
• Demonstrated experience with building automated control systems including security and HVAC.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to assess needs, set priorities and handle stressful situations.
• Computer skills including work order systems, daily maintenance, invoice processing, budget and payroll management.

Responsabilités

• Oversees maintenance & operations of the House to provide a safe home for undergrad students.
• Works with Faculty Deans and Resident Deans for a smoothly functioning House.
• Responds promptly to occupant requests and resolves issues.
• Manages budgets, vendors, and relationships with Harvard departments.
• Directs custodial staff, building trades, and contractors for timely, cost-effective work.
• Maintains building security and access control; oversees safety compliance inspections.
• Coordinates HVAC, security, and fire systems monitoring and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborates with sustainability staff on energy reduction efforts.
• Responds to emergencies during and outside work hours.
• Occasional weekend work for move-in/move-out and Summer School.
