Job summary

Stanford University’s Residential & Dining Enterprises (R&DE) is seeking a Housing Building Manager (HBM) to oversee daily upkeep, custodial operations, safety, and building support for assigned Student Housing facilities, reporting to the Assistant Director, Housing Operations. This on-site role is essential and telecommuting is not available.

The HBM will supervise custodial and temporary staff, coordinate maintenance and inspections, manage budgets and supplies, and collaborate with campus

Qualifications

• Minimum knowledge of facilities management and safety practices.
• Experience supervising custodial and temporary staff.
• Ability to manage budgets, safety training, and vendor coordination.
• Flexibility to work after hours during peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities of assigned shop(s), including scheduling and directing staff.
• Monitor progress, perform QA checks, and lead health and safety programs.
• Track budget and provide estimates to management; manage contracts and vendors.
• Coordinate construction/renovation with Stanford staff and outside partners.
• Support after-hours duty rotation and back-up facility coverage.
