Job summary

Harvard University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Building Manager for an undergraduate residential dormitory (House). The role oversees physical resources and operations to ensure a safe, well-run living environment for students and the House community.

You will work with Faculty Deans and Resident Deans, supervise custodial and trades staff, coordinate with Harvard departments, and support energy and sustainability efforts. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in managing physical facilities and supervising staff.
• Experience with building automation, security, and HVAC systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and operations of the undergraduate House to provide a safe, functional home for students and staff.
• Collaborate with Faculty Deans and Resident Deans to ensure smooth House operations.
• Direct custodial, trades, and contractor teams; manage budgets and vendor relations.
• Monitor security, access control, and compliance with safety codes and regulations.
