Job summary

In Charge Electrical Services is seeking a Residential Electrical Instructor in Austin, TX. You will lead a training crew of 2–6 apprentices and mentor them daily on real-house wiring projects, ensuring code compliance and high-quality workmanship.

You will teach NEC requirements, safety practices, and efficient wiring techniques, while coordinating with field supervision to continuously improve the program.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of experience as a practicing residential Electrician.
• Ability to wire a house quickly and teach others.
• Experience leading crews in the field.
• Experience training or mentoring apprentices.
• Strong NEC knowledge and safety practices.
• Valid Wireman, Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
• Clear communicator and organized, with Office skills.
• Pass pre-employment screening.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a training crew of 2 to 6 apprentices in the field.
• Train hands-on through rough and trim installations on active job sites.
• Teach apprentices to wire houses efficiently while maintaining quality.
• Hold a high standard for detail and code compliance.
• Teach NEC and NFPA 70E safety daily.
• Mentor apprentices, track progress, and schedule reviews.
• Report progress to training leadership and coordinate with field supervisors.
