Job summary

In Charge Electrical Services is seeking a Residential Electrical Instructor to lead a field training crew and mentor apprentices on active residential projects in Austin, TX. You will teach wiring methods in rough and trim, ensure code compliance, and promote safe, efficient practices while remaining hands-on with tools.

The role emphasizes leadership, practical training, and ongoing development of new electricians, under a supervision structure that values growth from within the company.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years as a practicing residential Electrician.
• Ability to wire a house quickly and teach others.
• Supervisory-level field experience leading crews.
• Experience training or mentoring apprentices or field teams.
• Strong NEC knowledge and job-site safety practices.
• Clear communicator capable of explaining technical work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a training crew of 2–6 apprentices on active job sites.
• Train hands-on through rough and trim installations in the field.
• Teach apprentices to wire houses efficiently with speed and quality.
• Maintain high standards for detail and code compliance on every house.
• Teach NEC requirements and NFPA 70E safety daily.
• Mentor apprentices, track progress, and keep training records.
• Report apprentice progress to training leadership and collaborate with field supervisors.
