Job summary

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start to finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships with customers. You will meet with customers, listen to project needs, educate about requirements, and craft a design concept reflecting the customer’s style, lifestyle, and budget.

You will greet customers, schedule appointments, and guide projects from inquiry to installation using Salesforce and other design tools, while staying on top of trends and company goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience.
• Design degree is a plus.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through referrals and leads.
• Advise on tile, wood, stone and accessories for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy and timely communication.
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
• Support company initiatives by modeling best practices.
• Stay current with market design trends.
• Utilize design applications such as Salesforce and Online Design Scheduler.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
