Job summary

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start to finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with our customers. They meet with customers, listen to project needs, educate them on requirements, and create design concepts that reflect personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

The role requires design experience, strong communication, and proficiency with design tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of interior design or retail/sales experience.
• Degree in Design is a plus.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers and support design needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking and referrals.
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects with accuracy, timeliness and follow-up.
• Proficient and consistent use of company communication tools and emails.
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales and other goals.
• Support company initiatives by modeling best practices with store employees.
• Engage in current and emerging design trends in your market.
• Understand and utilize design applications (Salesforce, Online Design Scheduler, MyProject).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
