Job summary

VBC Homes in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Project Manager to lead post-construction warranty service while supporting residential construction projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with homeowners, and staying involved in residential construction.

This position blends construction operations and customer experience. You’ll evaluate issues, coordinate solutions, and communicate clearly with homeowners and trade partners.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in residential construction, warranty/service management, or project management.
• Strong working knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and building systems.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing construction schedules.
• Ability to diagnose construction issues and apply practical, solution-oriented judgment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Experience working with homeowners or customers in a service-focused role.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to professionally navigate challenging conversations.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations, building codes, and safety practices.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead warranty and service operations; be the primary contact for homeowners during warranty period.
• Support construction projects; ensure schedule, budget, and quality alignment.
• Drive quality control and project closeout; perform pre-close inspections and closeout documentation.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience; communicate timelines and resolve concerns.
