Job summary

Meritage Homes is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee homebuilding from start to finish. You will coordinate subcontractors, schedule deliveries, and ensure compliance with building codes and Meritage quality standards.

Ideal candidates have supervisory experience, blueprint literacy, and excellent customer service. This role requires hands-on leadership on busy job sites and collaboration with homeowners and city inspectors to deliver energy-efficient homes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; construction management degree preferred.
• 4–10 years of construction supervisory or project oversight experience.
• Advanced training in residential building trades preferred.
• Knowledge of homebuilding, building codes, ROC.
• Ability to read blueprints and inspect all construction aspects.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficient in Word/Excel; Hyphen knowledge a plus.
• Familiar with a wide range of hand and power tools.
• Strong communication to explain complex issues clearly.
• Excellent problem/conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage homebuilding construction through all phases to deliver a quality home.
• Schedule subcontractors and materials delivery dates.
• Ensure building codes and Meritage standards are met.
• Conduct walk-through inspections with homeowners.
• Communicate safety standards to laborers and subs; enforce safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized jobsite and subdivision.
• Interact daily with various departments, subcontractors, customers, and city inspectors.
• Attend construction, monthly and quarterly meetings.
