Job summary

Meritage Homes is seeking a skilled Construction Manager to guide homebuilding projects from start to finish, ensuring quality and efficiency. You will schedule subcontractors, read blueprints, enforce safety standards, and communicate with homeowners and inspectors while maintaining high standards and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in construction management preferred.
• 4–10 years of construction supervisory or project oversight experience.
• Advanced training in one or more trades within residential construction preferred.
• Knowledge of homebuilding systems, ROC, and building codes.
• Ability to read blueprints and inspect framing, stucco, electrical, plumbing etc.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel; Hyphen knowledge a plus.
• Knowledge and use of a wide range of hand and power tools.
• Ability to explain complex issues clearly to customers and associates.
• Excellent problem/conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage homebuilding construction through all phases to ensure delivery of a quality home.
• Schedule subcontractors and material delivery dates.
• Ensure all codes and Meritage standards are met.
• Conduct walk-through inspections with homeowners.
• Communicate safety standards to laborers; enforce safety regs.
• Maintain a clean and organized jobsite and subdivision.
• Interact daily with departments, subcontractors, customers, and city inspectors.
• Attend construction, monthly and quarterly meetings.
