Job summary

Meritage Homes is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee homebuilding projects from start to finish on-site in a fast-paced environment. You will coordinate subcontractors, schedules, and inspections to ensure top-quality homes are delivered on time, while enforcing safety standards across all job sites and communicating with homeowners and city inspectors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in construction management preferred.
• 4–10 years construction experience with supervisory or project oversight.
• Advanced training in trades within residential building industry preferred.
• Knowledge of homebuilding codes and ROC (Register of Contractor Standards).
• Must be able to read blueprints to inspect framing, stucco, electrical, plumbing, etc.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; Hyphen knowledge a plus.
• Ability to explain complex construction issues clearly to non-experts.
• Strong problem/conflict resolution abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage homebuilding construction through all phases to deliver a quality home.
• Schedule subcontractors and delivery dates for materials.
• Ensure building codes and Meritage Homes quality standards are met.
• Conduct walk-through inspections with homeowners.
• Communicate safety standards to laborers and subcontractors; enforce safety on all sites.
• Maintain a clean and organized jobsite and subdivision.
• Interact daily with various company departments, subcontractors, customers, and city inspectors.
• Attend construction, monthly and quarterly meetings.
