Job summary

The Seattle YMCA invites applications for a full-time seasonal position at our summer resident camp. The role focuses on supervising staff and campers, ensuring safety, and delivering inclusive, engaging activities that build character and community spirit.

You will support cabin counselors, mentor teen leaders, and help run all-camp events while living onsite during the summer program. The position requires outdoor activity endurance and a commitment to YMCA values.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• First aid certification (state approved).
• CPR certification (state approved).
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One or more years of college preferred.
• Previous camp experience preferred.
• Ability to participate in physically demanding outdoor activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of staff and campers and ensures safety at all times.
• Plans and facilitates developmentally appropriate activities and events.
• Provides supervision and feedback to cabin staff.
• Leads developing teen leaders within the group.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness standards on a daily basis.
