Job summary

The Seattle YMCA is seeking a Summer Camp Cabin Counselor to supervise and enrich campers at Camp Colman, Longbranch, WA. You’ll lead activities such as arts, sports, nature hikes, and team-based games, serving as a positive role model and promoting safe, healthy behaviors.

Benefits include YMCA membership, access to mental health resources, and rapidly accruing PTO. This seasonal, residential role runs June 7 – August 27, 2027, with housing and meals provided.

Qualifications

• 18 years old or older.
• 1-2 years of experience with children in camps, childcare, tutoring, nannying, or coaching.
• Demonstrated experience planning and implementing group activities.
• Ability to participate in activities involving outdoor, physically demanding settings.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of campers and ensures safety at all times.
• Facilitates age-appropriate program activities and leads special events.
• Provides leadership to teen leaders placed with the group.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety in cabins, bathrooms, and main lodge.
• Keeps program equipment in good condition and accessible.
