Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking an Inclusion Specialist for Camp Coleman in Longbranch, WA. You will support campers with mental, emotional, and social health needs, ensuring safety and comfort while under supervision.

This seasonal, residential camp role includes living onsite and collaborating with the leadership team to foster an inclusive, supportive environment. Responsibilities include supervising campers, communicating with families, and helping run developmentally appropriate

Qualifications

• 18 years old or older.
• 1-2 years of experience with children; camps, childcare, tutoring, nannying, coaching.
• Previous camp experience preferred.
• 1+ years of experience leading others as a supervisor or lead.
• Work or life experience or education in social work, mental health counseling or related fields is preferred.
• Ability to participate in activities that involve rigorous physical activity in an outdoor setting including hiking, boating, camping, and swimming.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and assists with camper supervision, ensures safety at all times, reports to Inclusion Director.
• Provides resources, suggestions, and direct support for campers who need extra attention.
• Communicates with parents, guardians, or case workers to gain tips and provide updates.
• Leads and assists with planning, schedules, and activities; promotes camper skill and character development.
• Provides leadership and supervision to developing teen leaders.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness standards and reports health needs daily.
• Attends meetings and trainings; follows YMCA policies including child abuse prevention and emergencies.
