Job summary

Phipps Neighborhoods is seeking a dedicated Residential Aide for Far Rockaway, Queens. This on-site, full-time role supports front-door security, resident supervision, and daily operations within an SRO program.

Responsibilities include intake duties when needed, coordinating with staff, and ensuring safety standards through fire drills and incident reporting. Requires NYS Security Guard License and related certifications; high school diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

• New York State Security Guard License is required.
• 8hr. & 16hr. Security Guard certifications are required.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• Candidate must be computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Monitors all residents, staff and visitors entering and leaving the facility.
• Answers telephone and directs calls to appropriate staff member and/or department.
• Welcomes and introduces new clients and conducts preliminary intakes when onsite counselors are unavailable.
• Prepares intake packages for new clients.
• Conducts vertical tours of the facility.
• Manages fire safety and other emergency procedures; conducts fire drills.
• Makes daily rounds of the apartments and maintains logs.
• Prepares incident reports and enters them into the electronic data system.
• In emergencies, contacts EMS, FDNY, or NYPD and notifies Program Director and staff.
• Attends professional development trainings to keep certifications up to date.
