Job summary

Phipps Neighborhoods, the social service affiliate of Phipps Houses, seeks a Residential Aide to maintain front door security and supervise residents in a Courtlandt Community SRO. You will ensure a secure, orderly environment and assist with intake and house rules while supporting staff on site.

Candidates must hold a New York State Security Guard License and related certifications; a high school diploma or GED is preferred, and computer literacy is required.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be computer literate.
• New York State Security Guard License is required.
• 8hr. & 16 hr. Security Guard certification required.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred or previous experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitors all residents, staff and visitors entering and leaving the facility.
• Answers telephone and directs calls to appropriate staff member and/or department.
• Welcomes and introduces new clients; conducts preliminary intakes and reviews house rules.
• Prepare intake packages for new clients.
• Conducts vertical tours of the facility.
• Manages fire safety and other emergency procedures.
• Monitors fire alarm system and conducts fire drills.
• Makes daily rounds of the apartments.
• Maintains daily visitor and resident sign-in logs.
