Job summary

Community Housing Innovations, Inc. (CHI) in Wading River, NY seeks a full-time Resident Support Specialist Supervisor to manage RSS staff in emergency housing programs.

You will supervise, train, schedule shifts, and liaise with outside entities to ensure compliance with CHI and funding guidelines. You will de-escalate crises, document interventions, audit records for regulatory compliance, conduct drills, and educate clients on policies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience providing management services or in a human services field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; English required; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent supervision and support for all Resident Support Specialist staff.
• Conduct 1 to 1 meetings and track performance goals, notes, and feedback.
• Ensure RSS staff trainings are up to date and on-site training is provided.
• Schedule and cover RSS shifts at the location.
• Liaise with outside entities and ensure timely communication.
• De-escalate potential crisis situations and document interventions.
• Audit logs, incident reports, and other documentation for compliance.
• Conduct fire drills and evacuate the building when necessary.
• Educate clients about program policies and procedures.
• Prevent income loss due to vacancy and other payments; assist management with on-call supervision.
