Community Housing Innovations, Inc. (CHI) is seeking a full-time Resident Support Specialist for our Coram location in New York. You will provide a safe, structured environment for residents and staff, coordinate client movement, and monitor conduct during tours of duty.

Responsibilities include screening clients and visitors, conducting rounds, completing logs and reports, and assisting with front desk duties. Strong English communication and ability to multitask are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of related field experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; English required; Spanish a plus.
• Basic MS Windows, MS Office, and internet usage.
• Ability to tour property, walk distances, and climb stairs.
• Independent or team player; organized; able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visibility to residents and staff and wear safety vest.
• Screen clients and visitors entering the facility.
• Perform bag searches at intake and as required.
• De-escalate potential crises and document interventions.
• Conduct rounds and monitor security and safety systems.
• Perform administrative duties at front desk.
• Assist with room turnover for new clients.
• Inform management of facility conditions needing repair.
• Oversee afterschool/evening activities as needed.
