Job summary

Mercy Housing is seeking a Resident Services Manager I to oversee programs, staff, and services at multiple property sites in a designated region. The role is on-site, with regular site visits to support residents and partners in Burien, WA.

The ideal candidate will show compassion and understanding of homelessness, co-morbidities, trauma, mental health, and substance use, with lived-experience encouraged to apply. This is an on-site position that involves travel among properties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in community development or social service program development.
  • Program and staff management experience.

  • Locate, develop, and maintain networks and partnerships with relevant service providers, community and religious organizations, business, and educational institutions.
  • Implement core program components and oversee progress toward program outcomes at all sites.
  • Recruit, orient, manage and evaluate resident services staff with supervisor approval.
  • Produce reports and understand outcomes from resident services data; prepare and submit all required reports.

The successful Resident Services Manager I will oversee programs, staff, and services at each property in an assigned region. You will be visiting and working at multiple sites.

The successful candidate will demonstrate compassion and have an understanding of the complexities of homelessness; co-morbidities; trauma; mental health and substance usage.

Pay

$39-42/hour, depending on experience

What You'll Do
Duties
  • Locate, develop, and maintain networks and partnerships with relevant service providers, community and religious organizations, business, and educational institutions
  • Implement core program/service components as may be required by regulation, funders, and/or special needs of the population served, and oversee progress toward program outcomes at all assigned sites.
  • Recruit, orient, manage and evaluate other resident services staff. Participate in hiring staff with direct supervisor approval.
  • Produce reports and understand outcomes from resident services data; prepare and submit all required reports in a timely manner.
  • Assist Resource Development staff in the preparation of grant proposals, reports and in support of general fundraising efforts; track and meet grant compliance requirements.
  • Provide input to housing development staff on new projects or acquisitions to determine plans for Resident Services.
  • Participate in Affordable Housing advocacy programs, councils for Affordable Housing/Community Services to represent Mercy Housing and our residents.
  • Monitor and provide input into the budget to ensure expenses are in line with funding availability and grant budgets.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • One (1) year of experience in community development or social service program development.
  • Program and staff management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional work experience.
Knowledge And Skills
  • Function effectively in an environment with diverse cultures and multiple perspectives and lines of authority.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Proficiency of verbal, writing and listening skills.
  • Perform basic computer functions using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in data collection and analysis.
  • Effectively motivate and supervise other staff, develop staff skills in support of resident and community programs and initiatives through training and mentoring.
