Job summary

Peregrine Senior Living is seeking an energetic Resident Care Aide/Medication Assistant to support memory-impaired residents in the Albany, NY region. The role emphasizes compassionate care, proper documentation, and adherence to residents' rights while promoting independence.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, CNA/HHA/PCA certification preferred by law, and at least one year in caregiving. Flexible scheduling and strong team support are offered.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Personal Care Aide (PCA) certification preferred or as required by law.
• One year working in a caregiving capacity preferred.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly required.

Responsibilities

• Assist memory-impaired residents with bathing, grooming, and dressing while maintaining dignity and independence.
• Ensure compliance with regulations regarding residents' rights and care documentation.
• Maintain and document proper records of care and promptly report changes in residents' condition to the supervisor.
• Promote resident participation in community activities.

$16.00 - $17.50 per hour, based on experience.

Shift differential available for Evenings, Nights and Weekend Shifts

We are currently seeking an energetic and dedicated Resident Care Aide/Medication Assistant.

Resident Care Aide/Medication Assistant Responsibilities include:

• Assisting our memory impaired residents to complete tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing while maintaining the residents’ dignity and promoting their independence
• Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents’ rights
• Maintain and document proper records of care
• Immediately report changes in resident’s condition to the supervisor: evidence of illness, changes in behavior, personal care needs not being met, medication issues, residents’ whereabouts unknown, etc.
• Promote and encourage residents to participate in community activities

Resident Care Aide/Medication Assistant Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant-CNA, Home Health Aide-HHA, or Personal Care Aide-PCA certification preferred or as required by law
• One year working in a care giving capacity preferred
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly required
