Job summary

Castle Healthcare is seeking an Activity Assistant/Aide to help plan, implement, and evaluate a broad range of resident activities in a long-term care setting. The role supports the care plan and works under supervision to provide engaging, meaningful experiences for residents.

The position emphasizes creating a warm, supportive environment, coordinating with other departments, and maintaining accurate progress notes and documentation of resident responses to activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating activity programs.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior and involvement and document progress.
• Maintain good rapport with other departments to ensure activities run smoothly.
• Prepare activity rooms and arrange equipment and supplies as needed.
• Oversee residents during activities to promote physical, social and mental well being.
• Assist in rooms visits, crafts, errands and other necessary activities.
