Job summary

Castle Healthcare is seeking an Activities Assistant/Aide to plan, implement, and evaluate activity programs for residents. You will work across departments to maintain a warm, engaging environment and support residents’ physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities include preparing spaces, coordinating supplies, following care plans, and assisting residents with crafts and visits. Prior experience in long-term care activities is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating activity programs and quality assurance for the Activities Department.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and involvement to evaluate progress and report accordingly.
• Assume authority and accountability of Activity Assistant/Aide.
• Ensure warm atmosphere and good rapport across departments; maintain calm environment.
• Prepare activity rooms for scheduled programs; recommend equipment and supplies.
• Assist in cleaning activity areas after functions.
• Follow the care plan when providing daily activities.
• Purchase department supplies, clothing and personal items for residents.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information and treat residents with dignity.
• Oversee residents in activities to promote well-being.
• Assist in-room residents by visiting, writing letters, errands, crafts.
