Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience in a resident activities program in a health care setting preferred.
• Willingness to complete state-approved training within six months of employment.
• Excellent creative and communication skills.
• Ability to work with residents with cognitive, physical or sensory disabilities.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize, and implement activities meeting residents' social, emotional, physical, and therapeutic needs.
• Create an ongoing calendar of activities accessible to all residents.
• Maintain detailed records of activity programs and participation.
• Coordinate and verify assistance for activities and events as needed.
• Plan department fundraising events.
• Develop and maintain an active volunteer program; train and supervise volunteers.
