Job summary

WellQuest of Elk Grove seeks a dedicated Activities Assistant to support residents in a vibrant senior living environment. You will help plan and lead monthly activity calendars, coordinate with the Director of Activities and care staff, and engage residents to participate in meaningful programs.

You will update signs, schedules, and descriptions, assist with marketing events, supervise volunteers, and ensure safety during activities.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months experience in providing planned activities or enrolled in a relevant education or training program.
• At least 1 year of experience in conducting group activities and evaluating residents' needs, supervising staff, training volunteers.
• Prefer 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations for pricing and producing reports.
• Demonstrates sound communication skills, both verbally and written with residents, staff, families, visitors and vendors.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
• Proficient in basic office equipment (including a PC) for achieving high performance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Director of Activities, care staff, and receptionists to maximize resident attendance at activities.
• Assist in monthly planning of the activity calendar and brainstorm with the Activity Director to plan and conduct new activities.
• Update digital signs, menu activity schedules, and movie descriptions.
• Survey residents and make observations and recommendations to determine activities of interest.
• Help develop and maintain daily exercise programming.
• Communicate with the Director of Activities to ensure programs are implemented to their fullest potential and provide feedback on effectiveness.
• Set up for activities and assist in clean-up; organize supplies and notify replenishment needs.
• Practice safety and protect residents from harm; report safety concerns immediately.
• Assist with Marketing events and planning.
• Plan and lead activities according to the monthly calendar under the Director's direction.
• Assist in making flyers, calendars, newsletters and updating social media as needed.
• Work with volunteers including scheduling, training and organizing day-to-day assignments.
• Assist with scheduling transportation or driving vehicles as needed.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and report issues promptly.
