Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Savannah, GA is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare meals for residents, following approved menus and recipes while accommodating dietary needs and ensuring a clean, organized kitchen.

You will supervise dietary staff in the Dining Services Director's absence, help maintain temperatures and food safety, report equipment issues, and participate in in-service training. A Serv-Safe certification or willingness to obtain it is required.

Qualifications

• Must have dining services experience.
• Serv-Safe certification or willingness to complete within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to read, write and make simple calculations.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift 50 lbs.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals per approved menus and recipes.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Supervise dietary staff in absence of Dining Services Director/Supervisor.
• Report faulty equipment and temperatures; ensure proper storage of leftovers.
• Take and record food temperatures three times daily.
• Attend required in-service and staff meetings.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
