Job summary

Qualifications

• Serv-Safe certified or willingness to obtain certification within 60 days
• Ability to read, write and perform simple calculations
• Ability to stand for long periods and handle temperature extremes
• Good communication with residents, visitors and staff

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present meals according to approved menus and recipes
• Supervise dietary staff in absence of Director/Supervisor
• Ensure a clean, orderly kitchen and proper sanitation
• Monitor temperatures and temperatures of refrigerators/freezers as required
• Record food temperatures 3 times daily and report issues
• Support training of new dietary staff and attend in-service meetings
• Assist in menu substitutions with approval of Dining Services Director
• Follow confidentiality policies and work as part of a team
