Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Cook to prepare meals according to menus for residents, supervise dietary staff when the Dining Services Director is absent, and ensure a clean, safe kitchen environment.

The role requires experience in dining services, Serv-Safe certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days), and the ability to read, write, and perform simple calculations. Training and a supportive team culture are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in dining services.
• Serv-Safe certification or willingness to complete within 60 days of hire.
• Basic understanding of food service operations.
• Ability to read, write, and perform simple calculations.
• Able to learn quickly and apply principles learned.
• Able to follow oral and written directions.
• Experience in food preparation and estimating quantities.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Able to carry heavy objects for 20 feet.
• Organized and works well with a team.
• Must maintain designated uniform and personal hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to approved menus and recipes.
• Supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Dining Services Director.
• Maintain a clean, orderly kitchen and work area at all times.
• Record and report food temperatures as required.
• Monitor portion sizes to minimize waste.
• Attend required in-service and staff meetings.
• Train new dietary employees as directed.
• Support flexible scheduling and teamwork across shifts.
