Job summary

Avanath Capital seeks a Maintenance Technician in Oakland, CA to keep our multifamily community well-maintained and welcoming. You will diagnose and repair systems, perform routine maintenance, and help ready units for rent while delivering outstanding service to residents and staff.

You bring hands-on skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, appliances, and pools. EPA Type II or Universal certification is preferred; on-call availability is expected.

Qualifications

• 2 years of multifamily maintenance experience is highly desired.
• Hands-on maintenance skills including plumbing, electrical, general carpentry, HVAC, appliances, pools, etc.
• EPA Type II or Universal certification is highly desired; CPO is a plus.
• Availability to be on-call to address emergencies.
• Reliable transportation.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop skills.
• Superior customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer knowledge: Windows, Word, Excel, internet and e-mail.

Responsibilities

• Provides exceptional customer service with every interaction and delivers high-quality maintenance service.
• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance while diagnosing defects.
• Complete make-ready process to prepare vacant homes for leasing and new move-ins.
• Maintain grounds, common areas and amenities, including cleaning and painting as needed.
• Support cost-control by repairing rather than replacing parts and tracking inventory.
• Follow safety policies, training, and report incidents promptly.
