Job summary

Platinum Communities is seeking a Cook to prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals for residents in an assisted living setting. You will ensure meals meet dietary needs, safety standards, and are served promptly with a resident-centered dining experience.

Responsibilities include following posted menus, maintaining sanitation, accommodating special diets, and collaborating with dietary aides. Weekend and varied shifts are required; SERV Safe certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of cooking experience in healthcare, assisted living, or long-term care.
• Knowledge of special diets, portion control, and food safety standards.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow menus, recipes, and safety guidelines.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with posted menus and standardized recipes.
• Ensure meals are prepared and assist with serving on time and in proper portions.
• Ensure all meals meet nutritional guidelines and dietary restrictions.
• Accommodate special diets including diabetic, low-sodium, mechanical soft, pureed, or vegetarian.
• Label and date all food items and leftovers per safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food service area.
• Participate in menu planning and feedback sessions.
• Attend required staff meetings and ongoing training.
• Follow all emergency procedures and report unsafe conditions.
