Lutheran Homes Of South Carolina Inc in Mount Pleasant, SC is seeking a Resident Assistant to provide direct care and support to residents, assisting with daily living activities and maintaining a safe, clean environment. You will document care, monitor health, and collaborate with nursing staff to ensure comfort and dignity for residents.

Responsibilities include assisting with meals, hydration, transfers, and mobility, while following infection control practices and HIPAA privacy regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or residential care facility preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct care to residents according to individual care plans.
• Assist residents with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral care, and other ADLs, while promoting independence.
• Take and record residents' temperature, pulse, respirations, weight, and blood pressure as per facility policy.
• Assist in resident mobility and transfers using proper techniques and equipment.
• Provide exceptional customer service and high-quality care with compassion and empathy towards residents and families.
• Assist with end-of-life care, post-mortem care, and resident transfers following discharge or death.
• Ensure residents' rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and orderly; perform laundry duties as needed.
• Report environmental issues such as equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or maintenance needs.
• Monitor for fire or safety hazards and maintain a safe environment for residents and staff.
• Observe and report changes in residents' physical and mental conditions to nursing staff promptly.
• Document care provided, including ADLs, food and fluid intake, vital signs, and any changes in resident status.
• Make rounds every two hours and respond to call lights promptly.
• Assist with serving and cleaning up meals, feeding residents as needed, and ensuring proper hydration.
• Maintain regulatory compliance by checking food temperatures and proper labeling and storage in refrigerators.
• Follow infection control guidelines and HIPAA privacy regulations.
• Attend meetings and complete in-services and mandatory training.
