Job summary

Lutheran Homes Of South Carolina is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide high-quality care to residents in a compassionate, dignified manner. The role emphasizes privacy, safety, and adherence to facility standards.

The CNA will perform ADL support, vital signs collection, hydration and meals assistance, and ensure a clean, safe living environment while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Education includes a high school diploma or equivalent.
• CNA certification through a state-approved program is required.
• Previous long-term care experience is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with team collaboration and basic documentation ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care per resident plans, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation.
• Assist residents in maintaining and improving functional abilities.
• Ensure resident comfort, privacy, and dignity in care delivery.
• Collect and record residents’ vital signs; monitor changes and report promptly.
• Document care and resident responses in a timely, accurate manner.
• Interact warmly with residents and promote a caring environment; respond to call lights and requests.
• Assist with meals, encourage hydration, and provide exceptional customer service.
• Maintain a safe, neat, and clean environment; report hazards or needed repairs.
• Follow infection control guidelines and HIPAA privacy rules; attend mandatory trainings.
• Transport residents and assist with mobility as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
