Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living at South Boston is seeking an Assistant Resident Care Director to support the Resident Care Director in planning, implementing, and evaluating the care department. The role includes direct resident care, supervising staff, medication administration, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

The ARCD will model CSL values, lead by example, and coordinate with teams to maintain high-quality resident experiences.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a state-approved school of practical nursing or has a current active state certification in medication administration.
• At least one (1) year of nursing experience, preferably in a related setting.
• Experience with administration of medication and geriatric, psychiatric, or rehabilitation nursing.
• Certified in CPR and first aid.
• Demonstrates leadership skills and sound nursing judgement.
• Willing to become trained and/or certified in state assessments and service plans as per licensing requirements.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours; on-call responsibilities as needed.
• Proficient with basic office equipment, including a PC.
• Acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain liaison with residents, families, and support departments to plan resident care needs.
• Ensure provision of services and monitor adherence to Federal and State policies governing resident care.
• Deliver direct resident care and supervise direct care associates.
• Report care provided and changes in resident condition to the Resident Care Director (RCD).
• Assist with and/or manage departmental scheduling to ensure adequate staffing.
• Recommend modifications to staffing plans to meet resident care needs within budget.
• Complete resident care assessments and individualized care plans.
• Provide support according to residents' individualized care plans.
• Conduct routine resident care rounds to meet needs per care plans.
• Consult with other departments for an interdisciplinary approach to residents' needs.
