Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Bluff is seeking an Assistant Resident Care Director to aid the Resident Care Director in planning, implementing, and evaluating the Resident Care department. You will provide direct resident care under the RCD’s direction in alignment with CSL philosophies and practices, serving as a Culture Ambassador.

The role requires leadership, clinical nursing skills, and flexibility for weekends/evenings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a state-approved school of practical nursing or has a current active state certification in medication administration.
• At least one year of nursing experience, preferably.
• Experience administering medications and geriatric/psychiatric/rehabilitation nursing.
• Certified in CPR and first aid.
• Demonstrates leadership and sound nursing judgement.
• Willing to become trained/certified in state assessments and service plans.
• Ability to work weekends/evenings/flexible hours, including on-call.
• Proficient with basic office equipment and a PC.
• Acceptable driving record.

Responsabilités

• Maintain liaison with residents, families, and support departments to plan for resident care needs.
• Ensure services comply with federal and state policies governing resident care.
• Perform competency across resident care, supervision, infection control, rights, safety, and sanitation.
• Deliver direct resident care and supervise direct care associates for safety and comfort.
• Report changes in resident condition to the Resident Care Director promptly.
• Assist with scheduling to ensure adequate staffing per budget and policy.
• Adjust staffing plans for reasonable hours and optimal coverage.
• Complete resident care assessments and individualized care plans per policy.
• Contribute to care planning with observations of residents’ needs and preferences.
• Conduct routine resident care rounds to meet individualized care plans.
• Consult with other departments for interdisciplinary resident needs.
• Assist with lifts/moves/transport using proper body mechanics.
• Administer and document medications per physician orders and CSL policy.
• Complete routine audits for resident care and medication management.
• Respond promptly to inquiries from residents/visitors/other staff.
• Communicate effectively to promote a homelike environment.
