Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living at South Boston is seeking a Resident Care Director to lead the resident care team and oversee care delivery, regulatory compliance, and program implementation. The role partners with physicians and care providers to ensure integrated, high-quality services for residents.

The RCD will model company values, manage performance, and coordinate care plans while ensuring regulatory standards and occupancy goals are met in a dynamic senior living community in Salisbury, MD.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years’ college in human services or health care field required; holds an unencumbered state license as a professional Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience providing resident care to the elderly or similar memory care
• Minimum of one (1) year nursing management experience including hiring, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and daily resident care operations.
• Certified in CPR and first aid; willing to become trained/certified in state assessments and service plans.

Responsibilities

• Model a business philosophy that treats every resident and family member as a personal customer.
• Promote health and wellness by coordinating with physicians and other care providers for integrated care.
• Ensure services comply with Federal and State policies governing resident care.
• Collaborate with administration on referral development and occupancy goals.
• Establish rapport with residents, families, and staff across departments to ensure needs are met.
• Perform routine resident care rounds and address concerns from shifts, residents, or families.
• Oversee assessments and care plans; monitor regulatory licensing requirements; maintain safety and quality data.
• Coordinate staffing plans and scheduling in line with budgets and policy.
• Interview, hire, and train care associates; conduct orientation and ongoing education.
• Oversee medication management and safety; monitor health changes and coordinate with executives.
