Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Salisbury, MD seeks a Resident Care Director to lead the resident care team, coordinate care, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will liaise with hospitals, physicians, and care providers to deliver high-quality resident care and service delivery.

The RCD will model our culture and supervise care staff, manage performance, and support occupancy and quality initiatives in alignment with federal and state requirements.

Qualifications

• Two years of college in health care or related field.
• Unencumbered state license as RN or LPN preferred.
• Two+ years’ experience providing resident care to the elderly or memory care.
• At least 1 year in nursing management (hiring, coaching, scheduling).
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Willing to become trained in state assessments and service plans.
• Knowledge of infection control practices and disease prevention.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Compassion for cognitively impaired residents and families.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours; on-call possible.
• Proficiency with basic office equipment and PC usage.
• Valid driving record.

Responsibilities

• Model a customer-first approach to residents and families.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and care providers for coordinated care.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state policies governing resident care.
• Support occupancy goals and referral development.
• Provide direct resident care and supervise direct care staff.
• Oversee resident assessments and care plans; ensure timely updates.
• Coordinate staffing in line with budgets and regulations.
• Interview, hire, and coach care team members; conduct orientation and training.
• Monitor care quality data and safety practices.
