Job summary

Porter Hills Village in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Part-Time Resident Care Assistant for the 1st shift (6am - 2:15pm) in Memory Support. You will provide compassionate personal care, assist with daily activities, and support residents in our assisted living and memory care areas.

The role requires 18+ years of age, prior caregiver experience preferred, and ability to assist with ADLs and lifting up to 35 pounds. EMAR familiarity is a plus. Weekend premiums apply.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Previous experience in a caregiver role, preferred.
• Experience with ADLs, preferred.
• Position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance.
• Previous working knowledge of EMAR system, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Hands-On Care – Assist with personal care (ADLS) like bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Support Mealtime– Help residents enjoy their meals and stay hydrated for good health.
• Keep Things Moving – Support mobility, including turning, positioning, and safe transfers.
• Perform Vital Checks – Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.
• Maintain Comfort & Care – Keep rooms tidy, cozy, and well-stocked with essentials.
• Provide Responsive Support – Answer call lights quickly and respond with kindness and compassion.
• Monitor with Watchful Eyes – Report any changes in conditions to the leadership ASAP.
• Demonstrate Respect & Professionalism – Maintain confidentiality while delivering top-notch care.

Description

Schedule: Part-time, 19 hours per week | 1st shift 6am - 2:15pm | Varies Monday - Friday, every other weekend | No scheduling mandation

Shift Premiums: Weekend (Fri 11:00 pm - Sun 10:59 pm) 0.50
