Job summary

Chelsea Retirement Community in Chelsea, MI is seeking a Resident Care Assistant for full-time 2nd shift (2:30pm-11pm) with weekend and holiday rotation. You’ll provide essential daily care, offer companionship, and create a warm, welcoming environment for residents.

A heart for helping others and building relationships is key. Responsibilities include hands-on care (ADLs), assisting with meals, safe transfers, vital checks, and responding to call lights with kindness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in direct caregiving role preferred.
• Must be able to safely lift, push, pull, and carry up to a minimum of 35 lbs.
• Previous working knowledge of Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMAR) system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Hands-On Care – assist with personal care (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Support Mealtime – help residents enjoy their meals and stay hydrated.
• Keep Things Moving – assist with mobility, including turning, positioning, and safe transfers.
• Perform Vital Checks – measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.
• Maintain Comfort & Care – keep rooms tidy, cozy, and well-stocked with essentials.
• Provide Responsive Support – answer call lights quickly and respond with kindness and compassion.
• Monitor with Watchful Eyes – report any changes in conditions to the leadership ASAP.
• Demonstrate Respect & Professionalism – maintain confidentiality while delivering top-notch care.

Schedule: Full time | 40 hours/week | 2:30pm-11pm | Weekend & Holiday Rotation, Required | No Scheduling Mandation

Shift Premiums: 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm $1.00 | 10:31 pm - 7:00 am $0.75 | Weekend (Fri 10:31 pm - Sun 11:00 pm) $1.00
