Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network in New York is seeking a Resident Aide to support nursing staff with non-technical tasks and resident care. You will assist in transports, feeding, bed making, and daily activities under supervision, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist in resident transports throughout the facility and to and from medical appointments as assigned
• Assist in passing fluids and nourishment to residents after completing appropriate in-servicing under guidance of the LPN/Charge Nurse
• Assist the nursing staff in performing tasks as assigned such as bed-making for empty beds only, straightening linens, cleaning closets and bedside tables, answer call lights and resident’s alarms
• Attend facility offered feeding assistant course as scheduled (expected competency to assist feeding residents as assigned)
• All other non-technical duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing, Nurse Supervisor or Nurse Care Coordinator
• Attend all required in-services and follow all department and facility policies and procedures including the use of personal protective equipment
• Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all resident care and employee information and follow HIPAA and HIV regulations
