Job summary

Harmony invites applications for a Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide (PCA) at our Chester, VA community. You will provide quality care and assist residents with activities of daily living, mobility, meals, and social activities.

The role requires compassionate communication, teamwork with the nursing staff, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, CPR/First Aid certification eligibility, and a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED.
• Must have completed approved personal care aide program per state regulations.
• Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to work well with all levels of staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed.
• Respond to resident calls and emergencies.
• Plan and conduct activity programs for residents.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Assist residents with move-in transitions and provide emotional support.
• Engage residents during meals and activities.
• Report resident status and changes to relevant staff.
• Follow policies and procedures at all times.
• Work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
