Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Chester, VA seeks a Resident Assistant/PCA to provide daily living support and compassionate care for residents. You will assist with activities of daily living, meals, and mobility while adhering to policies and safety procedures.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, completion of an approved PCA program, and CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days. A flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have completed an approved personal care aide program per state regulations.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or willing to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Able to walk and stand for extended periods; lift 50 lbs and push/carry 25 lbs.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Provide quality care and assistance while maintaining confidentiality.
• Report incidents and care concerns to appropriate personnel (e.g., HCD, RN/LPN, ED).
• Perform housekeeping in resident rooms, common areas, and dining rooms as directed.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting resident activities.
• Communicate resident status and scheduling information in writing.
• Support new residents during move-in transitions.
