Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Mechanicsville, VA is seeking a Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide (PCA) to provide quality care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents. Responsibilities include helping with daily tasks, housekeeping, responding to emergencies, and supporting activity programs.

Flexible schedule, weekend/holiday availability, and formal PCA program completion are required.

Qualifications

• ,Must have a High School Diploma or GED,
• Must have successfully completed approved personal care aide program per state regulations as applicable
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel
• Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs
• Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics
• Must be in designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire
• Must be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner
• Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living
• Perform housekeeping duties and maintain resident areas
• Respond promptly to calls for assistance or emergencies
• Plan and conduct activity programs for residents
• Assist new residents with move-in transition and provide emotional support
• Report resident status and concerns to appropriate staff
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information
• Represent the community professionally at all times
